When I
was in the first grade my father bought me a fossil shark tooth at the Mystic
Marine Life Aquarium in Mystic, CT. Since that day I have been collecting
fossil shark teeth and building a large comparative collection of modern
shark dentitions. Ultimately I wound up studying sharks teeth for my graduate
research and currently work as a marine biologist for the Federal government.
I've spent years traveling all over the country searching for fossil shark
teeth. I have spent hundreds of days at phosphate mines and construction
sites, as well as scuba diving for them in the scariest of places. After
all these years, I still have that tooth my father gave me.
I find many shark teeth, stingray spines, and ray teeth while diving the
rivers and coastal areas of Florida. I keep some of my finds for my own
collection but will make most of what I find available to other shark enthusiasts
who don't live near fossil bearing soils or have the ability to find them
on their own. Contact me and we can discuss your interests and needs. Teeth
from my dives start at $1.00 each.
Maybe one of these teeth will give you the inspiration that my first one
did...... |
